Hope everybody had a wicked Halloween. We sure did. We only got two trick or treaters but I dressed up anyway, and made roasted pumpkin seeds, and ate shitloads of candy. Kim and Blair came over and played Carcassonne with the Tower expansion with us (our games arrived yesterday) but the other so called "expansion" according to the Titan Games guy turns out to be a stand-alone. So we'll be playing Carcassonne: The city tonight.

I'm interested to hear how you like the Tower expanion, well and the City too. I haven't played either one. Phollower and his wife boutht the City, but we haven't had a chance to play.

We did play Shadows Over Camelot last weekend, and I really liked that game.

Zoe: We really enjoyed the tower expansion. It totally changed the dynamics of the game-made it much more difficult to score points. I'm sure we'll get the hang of it after playing it a couple of times. We haven't yet played the City but will soon and I'll let you know. Phollower also recommended Shadows Over Camelot so we'll get that one next.

Shadows Over Camelot was great but be sure you can get 5 or 6 people together to play it. If getting a group that large is hard for you I recommend Ticket to Ride: Europe or Puerto Rico instead. Both are great with 3 or 4 players. Shadows Over Camelot is made by a company called Days of Wonder who is well known for the quality of the components in their games so they generally aren't inexpensive. Their games are almost always great (T2R:E is one of theirs too) and the pieces are always top of the line but if a 5 or 6 player game will spend most of its time gathering dust on your shelf you may want to invest in a different game than Shadows Over Camelot. But if you have 5 friends who are willing to play, then by all means...

Phollower: Getting 5 or 6 people together is certainly not an issue. Saturday night should see at least 12 (can't wait to play Curse of the Wolfen).

(r): Glad you like it. Took me all of ten minutes. It's the cleaver in the head that makes it special.

Zoe had to postpone her annual Halloween party due to illness but it's rescheduled for next Friday so we'll be playing Curse of the Wolfen then. I made some excellent scoring sheets for the Storyteller to use too. At least I hope they'll be excellent. I haven't tried them yet.

Zoe: I didn't know you were sick. Get well soon.

Phollower: Well, I'm having at least 12 people here tomorrow. i could test your scoring sheets for Curse of the Wolfen if you like:)

S&L- Sorry, I didn't see this until it was too late. If you want me to send you the score sheet I can. It's an Excel spreadsheet. It's nothing too exciting but I'm hoping it'll make keeping track of who's who a little easier.

phollower: hey, no worries. We had a great time playing it. I never would have found it on my own either so...thanks. We just found out that some new friends of ours (also big games geeks) have Settlers of Catan, which i believe is one of the games you mentioned. We're looking forward to playing that, too. We've been playing the Carcassonne: the city quite a bit the last few days. Can you see any reason we couldn't incorporate the walls and towers into the original with the tower expansion? We thought of it last night...I can't really see why not. Can you? Hope you had a good weekend. Party at Zoe's you'd said? I hope you guys had as much fun as we did:)
