How hot is he! And don't forget: it's his birthday next weekend! Scott will be an old man of 33.

Maybe you all might remember me commenting on the glacier on our Mary McLeod road? Well here are some pics my honey took last week. This one is of the source: a spring. I'm not sure I get it though: how could a spring cause a glacier when it's minus 30 or colder? And it keeps getting bigger. It's all torn up because a cat keeps digging it up to keep it from expanding even more. I think this is cool shit, don't you?

Twelve Hours Of Sunlight

That's right folks, it feels like Spring here. But it's not. At night it's been -40 or nearly so for awhile and during the day it sometimes gets up to -17 or so but that's about it. We haven't really had any new snow, except for the rare dusting but we still have several feet of it everywhere. This seems wierd to me because it seems like it never snows. lol. Our days are mostly gorgeous and our sunsets last for hours. Lol-we've actually become quite acclimatized: I realized this the other day when we had our door open for a couple of hours because it was so warm out. It was about -15 if I recall correctly.

Anyways, sorry it's been so long since our last post. Life is keeping us busy as usual. March is a fun month in Dawson-this weekend they celebrate the sun with something they call: Thaw-di-gras. We shouldn't get too excited though-Breakup doesn't come for another 2 months or so. So for our first Thaw-di-gras I'm helping to put on a dog show through the Humane Society at Diamond Tooth Gerties, also I'm helping out with the French Carnivalle on Thursday to kick start the weekend. We've been doing other things, too: Scott's play is coming up at the end of the month and he's busy with his Skills Canada club, too. I'm still subbing lots and have some new tutoring to add to my schedule. I've also just signed up to volunteer for Dawsons big Film fest which takes place Easter Weekend and I guess is a very big deal-drawing film makers from all over the world. And on our own time we've both been working very hard learning our instruments and have even managed to put together a little impromptu drum circle last week which was very fun.

I have to tell you all about last Friday night before I run out of time here. It was our friend Kim's birthday and despite the fact that we had drank ourselves sick the previous Monday with them in Whitehorse we went on a Dawson pub crawl to celebrate. This was especially interesting for Scott and I who have only been in two of the bars very briefly. First we went to Bombay Peggy's which is a charming little pub and has the most class in town. They had a wonderful fiddle player we enjoyed thoroughly before moving on. Next came the Eldo where we ran into the single teachers getting tanked (don't judge them, it was Spring Break) but it was bright and quiet and so we moved on fairly quickly to the Downtown. The Downtown is home to the infamous "Sourtoe". It's a tradition to drink a shot with a severed toe in it. True! I swear. There were people lined up to do it the whole time we were there. I guess every few years some amputee donates a new one. EEEEWWWW! It was Karaoke night. We didn't stay long. Too many trekkers. On our way out I happened to look up and there was a very impressive display of Aurora happening. It was silvery but with blue and red on the edges. This must have been a sign from whatever gods reside this far north because our next stop was Diamond Tooth Gerties and the 2nd dollar I put into a slot paid out 90 bucks! I was pretty happy about it despite the fact that the other guy cashing in at the same time was getting $2500. lol. What a cool place though. I highly recommend a visit to Dawson just for our casino. Our last stop of the night was the Pitt. Best music, yuckiest bar. Too bad.

I have to fly now but I will do my best to take more pics and post more. Don't give up on us!

We sincerely hope that life is treating you all very well and wish to here from you soon! Take care.
